Victoria Climate


Although it is smaller than the other states, Victoria experiences a variety of climates in its different regions. The north-west region is hot, with average rainfall while the capital city of Melbourne is more temperate with rain showers all year. School Holidays in Victoria


Summer Holidays are for two weeks starting mid December, while Autumn break starts in late March. Students also get two weeks off for Winter in late June and Spring break are in mid September.

In Victoria, the Queen's birthday is celebrated on the second Monday of June while Labor Day is celebrated on first Monday of March. Easter Saturday is also observed. Read more on special days on Australian Public Holidays.

Summer


Visitors will be looking forward to sunny Christmas holidays in December, although January and February can get very hot and humid. Bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for your summer in Victoria.

Autumn


March still carries some of summer's sunny days, although the weather begins to get milder in April. May is the coolest month in Autumn, a sign that Winter is just around the corner. There is a great possiblity of rain during this season, so pack a rain jacket and warm clothes for the evenings.

Winter


Winters can be rather chilly in Victoria, so make sure you have a winter jacket and plenty of warm clothing. June gets a lot of fog while July is very windy. You can look forward to warmer weather in August, but be prepared for some rainfall.

Spring


This is a great time to be in Victoria, since the days are warm and the evenings are mild. Just be ready for a rapid change in weather during September and October, when it can switch from sunny to cloudy, foggy to rainy in an instant. Spring gives way to warmer days in November, although you will still need a few warm clothes for the cooler nights.
