Northern Territory Climate

The northern end of the territory has high humidity all year, while the Red Centre in the central region has a dry weather, experiencing little rainfall annually. The Northern Territory is not generally defined by typical seasons and instead has a “dry” and “wet” season. School Holidays in the Northern Territory

Summer holidays are in mid-December to late January. Students also get two week breaks between terms, usually in late April, late June and late September.

In the Northern Territory, the Queen's birthday is celebrated on the second Monday of June while Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of May. Easter Saturday is also observed, as well as Picnic Day on the first Monday of August. Know more about special holidays in Public Holidays In Australia

Summer

The wet season is at full swing during December and January, with less (but still frequent) rainfall in February. It can also get humid in the afternoons. If you have to travel during these months, be prepared with a rain jacket and warm clothing for the evenings.

Autumn

March still experiences plenty of rainfall, but the days get warmer (and drier) in April. This doesn't mean that the rain is going to stop soon, so carry a rain jacket and warm clothes for the evenings. May brings in the dry season with clear skies and afternoon humidity.

Winter

You're in for several cool days in June and July, and the weather is also pleasant in August. Pack a sweater and other warm clothes if you're going camping during Winter.

Spring

There are mild days and cool evenings in September and October, and the wet season creeps in in November. Warm clothing and a rain jacket are necessities for Spring.
