If you're traveling from Queensland to the Northern Territory, there are so many places to see and things to do that you will want to be on the road for a long time. Make sure you give yourself at least two weeks or more to fully enjoy this itinerary.
Although the route makes use of sealed roads, it does require having to go off road so you'll need a 4WD. Find a great vehicle in 4WD Hire Australia.
Please note that the itinerary includes bush camping, so make sure you come prepared. Get tips on what you need to bring with our Australian Camping Checklist.
The Savannah Way is Australia's Adventure Drive, linking Cairns in Tropical North Queensland with the historic pearling town of Broome in Western Australia’s Kimberley, via the natural wonders of Australia’s tropical savannahs and the Northern Territory’s Top End. Visit www.savannahway.com.au
