School Holidays In Queensland

The summer holidays are between the third week of December to the third week of January. Students get two weeks off per term, in early April, late June and late September.

In Queensland, the Queen's Birthday is celebrated on the first weekend of October while Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of May. Easter Sunday is also observed. There are more special holidays in Australian Public Holidays.

So When Is The Best Time To Visit?

This is probably the hardest question to answer, since the state offers so much all year long. In the end, it will all depend on what the visitor wants in their Queensland experience. We'll help you decide with the straight facts.

Summer

You can expect the beaches to be packed with tourists and locals alike during December and January. It is an exciting period, though you'll need to pre-book flights, campervan rentals and caravan park stays early so you don't miss out on the best choices and specials. If you still want to experience summer at the “Sunshine State” but avoid the holiday rush, February still offers plenty of sun. Just remember to wear sunscreen all the time and bring lots (and we mean lots!) of water.

Autumn

If you still want the sunshine during your Easter Holiday, Queensland is also great in March and April. There would still be some rainfall though, so don't forget your rain jacket. Also, remember that everybody else will be out for Easter weekend so book your campervan hire and caravan park stay as early as possible.

MyDriveHoliday has great motorhomes from the top Australian brands. Just enter your travel dates and locations into the Quote Calculator on the right side of the page to get a list of available vehicles. Find the best place to stay in Caravan Parks In Queensland.

For a stress-free autumn trip, visit in May when there are no school holidays and the weather is just perfect for camping.

Winter

You won't be able to tell it's winter during the daytime; it's still warm and sunny! June and July has clear skies, warm days and cool nights. The school holidays are during these months, so if you want to avoid the crowd, come over in August. Winter is one of the best season for self-drive holidays, but you'll need to bring your warmer clothes for the lower evening temperature.

Spring

Is it even possible to not have fun during spring? Gorgeous blue skies, sunny days and low humidity are all trademarks of a spring in Queensland. The school holidays are mostly in September while events and public holidays like the Queen's Birthday take place in October. The season hits it peak in November, making way for the hot summer months. Again, sunscreen and water please!
