SS Klondike National Historic site is a reminder of the steamship days in Whitehorse. The SS Klondlike was the last sternwheeler that worked on the Yukon River, up until August 1955. In the 1960's, she was donated to the Canadian government and restored before being given a special place along the river. By 1967, she was designated a National Historic Site and still draws in many visitors who wish to see the hardy steamship who is now an integral part of Canadian history.

Operating Hours

  • The S.S. Klondike is open for visitors from May 18 (the Victoria Day long weekend) through September 2 , 2013 (Labour Day). During the visitor season, the site is open from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Remarks

Guided tours are offered every hour on the hour. The first tour begins at 10 am and the last tour is at 4 pm. A French tour is offered daily at 1 pm.
