American Legion Campground located in scenic, progressive hospitable Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. In the midst of Minnesota's 10,000 beautiful lakes, the Detroit Lakes Area encompasses more than 412, crystal clear, blue lakes within a 25-mile radius. This provides a wonderful variety of summertime recreation activities from early morning swim, a boat ride, or a lazy afternoon innertube floating down the Otter Tail river to waterskiing, sailing or zipping across the lake on a personal watercraft. The American Legion Campground sits across from the mile-long city beach That meets the expectations of the most discriminating sun-worshipers.The beach also has two boat launching accesses and a fishing and observation pier. A marina is located directly on the city beach, boats, pontoons and paddle boat rentals are available. It also has a large docking system with boat slips .
