The Auckland Marathon - November 2, 2008
Most of us want to experience the adrenaline rush. Running wild and free. The Auckland Marathon is the perfect opportunity for just that. The marathon attracts thousands of runners, making it one of New Zealand’s most popular events - full distance running, a half marathon, a quarter marathon and 5km walk.
The full and half marathon races start at the same time from King Edward Parade in Devonport. The course takes participants over Auckland Harbour Bridge and both events finish at Victoria Park. With NZ$4000 total prize money on offer, the winner of the full marathon receives NZ$2500 and the winner of the half marathon NZ$1500. There are four events: Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5km Walk will run over the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Join a day of entertainment, fun and achievement finishing with the ‘Party in the Park’.
