Wellington Botanic Garden is a 25-hectare land that features colorful floral displays, interesting statues, unique landscapes, conifers, and other specialized plants. First established in 1868, the garden continues to draw in visitors for a relaxing day out of the busy life in Wellington. Scenic attractions include the Begonia House, the Lady Norwood Rose Garden and the historic Bolton Street Memorial Park. It is also an ideal location for weddings, meetings, corporate functions and concerts.

    Open daily from dawn to dusk

    Treehouse Visitor Centre:
    Monday - Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm

    Begonia House Gift Shop
    (September - March):
    Open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm

    (April - August):
    Weekdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm (Closed on Tuesdays)
    Weekdays and public holidays from 10:00am to 3:00pm

    Closed New Year's Day, Good Friday, and Christmas Day. Closed Anzac Day until 1:00pm

Remarks

There are many entrances to the Garden including from Glenmore Street, Salamanca Road, Upland Road and the Cable Car. The only public vehicle access is through Centennial entrance on Glenmore Street.
