Western Australia takes up one-third of the continent, and has a large variety of landscapes that matches the huge differences in its climate. The north side experiences tropical humidity while the deserts are dry and the South-West gets dry summers and wet winters.

The summer break is between mid-December to late January. There are two week breaks between terms, in mid-April, early July and late September.

Summer

The weather in December is not as warm as it is in January and February. Temperatures are at their highest during these months, so it's not a surprise that everyone is at the beaches. Bring your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, and make sure to pre-book your campervans and accommodations.

Autumn

The days are still sunny in March, and the temperature gets cooler in April and May. You can expect warm days, cool nights and great weather for camping in Autumn, but also be prepared for the occasional rainfall. Remember to pack some warm clothes and a rain jacket. Winter

There are only a few warm days in June, and July and August can get very wet. If you are traveling during these months, make sure to have your rain jacket and plenty of warm clothing.

Spring

Most people will say that Spring is the best time to visit Western Australia, since the days are warm and the nights are cool, with limited rainfall. September still gets a few rain showers, while October and November offer excellent weather for outdoor activities. You still need warm clothes for the evenings, but bring some sunscreen as well when you're enjoying the sun.
