“The derwent is a large vehicle with plenty of storage space. As a camper it is well appointed and all appliances and features worked. The VW carry is a little underpowered for the Tasmanian terrain. Body roll and vibration get pretty bad on some of the back roads. There didn't seem to be a breather on the grey water tank to allow the sink and shower pan to drain when the discharge tap was turned off?”

“Start with toilet not working - there goes self contained camping for a start, gas leak in the van no using the cooker or hot water, broken seat belt the vehicle our friends hired had a busted fridge, the table & chairs broken, and the vehicle blew up - we were all left stranded for a day on the side of the road waiting for replacement - they got a car and we had to abort plans to try and find accommodation (impossible!!!) throw out all the rotten food and ditch any thoughts of cooking etc. ”
