Adelaide Challenge

Planning on going to Glenelg Beach? Lucky you, the Triathlon Australia presents the Challenge Series, a sequence of multisport events that takes place across the country between November and April. The Adelaide Challenge at Glenelg Beach is the first of the series and it’ll be in Glenelg Beach.
The ocean swim will start from the beach, with Olympic Distance competitors to enter the water on the southern side of Glenelg Pier, adjacent to College Street, but the swim may change subject to weather conditions on race day. The bike leg is a flat, multi-leg circuit of 9.5km that takes competitors along Adelphi Terrace adjacent to Patawalonga Lake and onto Tapleys Hill Road. And the run takes competitors from Chappell Drive on a scenic course south along the Esplanade, adjacent to the ocean. The Olympic Distance competitors will complete this 3.3km circuit three times.

Over the three days, people of all ages, shapes and sizes turn up to put their athletic abilities to the test. From the less-serious Fun Runs to Olympic Distance Races consisting of a 1500m swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run, there really is an Adelaide Challenge for everyone. So no excuses for not taking part!
